The St. Maarten Island lies in the north eastern part of the Caribbean. It is the smallest island in the world and is best known for its breathtaking beauty. This smallest island is divided into two different sovereign states or territories. These two states have completely different cultures. While French is predominant on one side, on the other side Dutch influence can be noticed. It is believed that the for more than 350 years now, these two distinct cultures have been the major attraction of tourists coming to St. Maarten.
