St. Maarten is in the Caribbean and is the world’s smallest island and it is tucked at a corner where there is an embodiment of natural beauty with all its pristine beaches and serene pathways. The location of the St. Maarten is quite favorable in many ways and that is the reason why this tucked away from the world island has seen an influx of tourists in the recent times.

The geographical location of the St. Maarten Island is 63.07 longitude and 18.02 latitude. The island is placed in such a way that it seems to be sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean in the east and Caribbean Sea in the west.    

The Caribbean islands are quite famous for their surreal beauty and among them St. Maarten is one of the most sought after destination for tourists now. The Island of St. Maarten lies on the top right corner of the chain of Caribbean island that lies on the U.S. Virgin Islands and east of Puerto Rico. It is also a part of the Netherlands Antilles. The land area of the St. Maarten is 87sq.km that falls under the French Sovereign and the other 34sq.km of land falls under the Dutch sovereign.   

The major cities of the island are Marigot on the French side and Philipsburg on the Dutch side. The highest hill on the island is the Pic Paradis which is 424m and lies on the center of a chain of hills. The climatic condition is quite favorable for living as it remains 27degrees Celsius most of the time. The island of St. Maarten gets an average rainfall of 995mm and ninety nine days of thunder. The St. Maarten Island is located on the south of Anguilla and it lies on the northwest of St. Barthelemy.

With all its favorable geographical location St. Maarten is one of the most desirable places to visit around the year.
